Unexpected Blessings

Sometimes God answers prayers in most unexpected ways and our small church, two years into a period without a minister, have experienced that very much over the past year.

We have spent much time praying for God’s guidance about how to reach out beyond our small Sunday service and during 2025 we had some unexpected answers to those prayers.

We are very much a multi -cultural congregation and we have had a couple from India as part of our congregation but their work schedules meant they could not attend as often as they wished. Their first language is Hindi and they were part of a house group church of Hindi speaking people and during a conversation with us asked if the group could hire our church hall for services.

As a church we felt led to offer them our church building on a Sunday afternoon and from that a relationship has grown between the two congregations and this led to a wonderfully uplifting joint Carol service. This is a relationship we will be continuing to grow.

Alongside this we have started to have regular joint services with a local small independent evangelical church which we have had contact with for many years.

We use Facebook and our website to reach out and from this we were contacted by a Chinese Church who wanted to hire a room in the hall, again we felt led to offer them use of the church for Bible Study meetings. The contact of opening up for them has led to mutual prayers and one of our members joining with them.

We have learnt that if we are open to God he often opens doors and leads us down paths we didn’t even knew existed and were certainly not paths we expected. We have gained wonderful relationships by being obedient to his openings.

We use Facebook to reach out to our local community and let them know of the wonderful things God has led us to and we pray that this will lead others to come and join us.
